Grenache
The oldest fruit on the property comes from a single sun-bowl of forty-five-year-old Grenache that we farm without irrigation. Whole-cluster fermentation and a gentle hand in the cellar give a wine of perfume and translucency rather than weight.
Luminous ruby, pale at the edge.
Wild strawberry, blood orange, white pepper, dried thyme from the hillside.
Silken and high-toned, with bright acidity and fine, dusty tannin.
Savory and lifted, leaving a trace of orange peel and garrigue.
Duck breast with cherries, or a board of aged sheep cheeses.
